Hey all,
I've had this annoying rattle for a while now, and I just can't seem to find the cause. I'm trying to post videos of the noise, so we'all see how that goes. I only seem to hear the rattle when in drive. Revving in neutral or park does nothing. That being said, I put it up on a lift and put the car in drive, but could not replicate the noise at all. It also seems to happen around 1500-1900 RPM regardless of gear. Very rarely I'll hear it faintly while at a stop light. It's most noticeable for about 30 minutes after starting and eventually subdues to almost nonexistent. I've removed heat shields, banged on my exhaust all over with a rubber hammer, secured it with wire where a hangar was broken, used hose clamps to tighten down a heat shield that was bent near the transfer case, and changed diff and transfer case oil. Not even the slightest change. The only slight lead I have is one I hear a bit of a rattle from the muffler when I hit the exhaust exiting the back of it (bit not when hitting the muffler itself). Any outside the box suggestions on how to diagnose or fix would be much appreciated.
