Wow, nice truck. I agree, that is a PRIME candidate for resto rather than cutting up.
So if you do sell, the big question is, "how much", and the second question would be how soon? i would gladly sell me two other 40's for that one.

It would cost some bucks to restore it the po took a lot of stuff off and trashed it. It has a salvaged title so kills the price i could get for it I'm going to let here go cheap but think the move the thread if i start talking price? so all post in the for sale section
Fair enough! I will look for it there. You are right, the salvaged title will hurt the value, but maybe not too much. It is still an 83 w/power steering & air.

This entire post smells of Atlas-like fecal matter. Bull****, you planned to sell it all along. "Post as query, profit as ad" type mentality. To start with, it needs full restoration with that godawful paint color. That's strip to bare metal, inside and out, to do it right. I bid 2500. Really. That and another 15k should get it in the 20k range at retail with the current market.

In California you can have a salvaged title due to not paying back registration fees.
Buy a vehicle with 7 year old tags. Pay $1,000 to bring it current or get a salvage title for the cost of the current tags.

A lot of things going on with that truck. The aprons have been replaced and windshield maybe too. Front-end damage at some point?
Texx-actually the 79-80 trucks are a little more like the 78, but 8/80 and beyond are most certainly different birds. Same engine as the FJ60, different springs, bigger shackle and hanger eyes, new t-case. Drum brakes went to a single cylinder. They ride differently for sure. Better is a matter of preference...but I own rigs from each vintage including a very late model truck and I like the 71 the best. At 40 mph in 3rd gear my F sounds like it will run until the end of time...then again it just might.

Must be tricky when it rains being it has no wipers........

Looks like someone got inventive installing the channel for the bikini top by mounting it to the front of the windshield frame. There is so much not 83 on that truck that unless you are going to track down all the missing parts you may as well do whatever with it.
