Hi Folks,

I've looked through a lot of forums looking to get help diagnosing a random misfire that I am getting on my lpg converted amazon. I am not the most technical minded of people so would appreciate it if you could explain any technical info for a layman. I have tried a few things and am looking for anyone who has any ideas as to what other things could be causing the issue

About a year ago I started getting misfires and the P0300 random misfire code (along with various cylinder codes, running rich and cat converter codes - which I think are symptoms of the misfire). It happens on LPG and petrol though is hardly noticeable on petrol. I notice it at idle when on LPG and seems to happen through the rev range - it is most obvious when under heavy acceleration at low revs but can be felt when accelerating at 60/70 mph too.

It does seem to get less pronounced when the car has been running for 10-20 miles although it desn't always go away completely. It is also not always there - I can accelerate smoothly for a while and then the misfire kicks in for a while and then disappears (well that is what it feels like).

I have tried the following:-

Changing spark plugs (good quality ones) and closing the gaps on them
Changing ignition coil packs (for all cylinders)
Cleaning the MAF sensor
Repairing hole in the exhaust

Repairing the hole in the exhaust made a big difference but none of the others (all tried by others suffer similar problems and posting on this an other landcruiser forums) have made no difference at all.

I was just hoping that someone might have ideas on what to look at next. I am going to try and get live data from the ECU to see if I can get more information than just the codes as all this seems to tell me is that I have a misfire and therefore the engine is running rich and the cat detects that but would appreciate any input - especially if anyone has suggestions of a specialist dianostic garage that would be worth taking the car to. I am loath to take it to Toyota as the last time I had an engine light and codes that suggested something generic they suggested replacing the ECU.

If you need any more info then please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help.
