I just checked the prices for you guys at one of the importers here in Germany today.
It's an official Toyota dealership,. Autohaus für Gebrauchtwagen aller Marken - https://autohaus.toyota.de/dinig/pkw/gebrauchtwagen/?make=Toyota&model=Land%20Cruiser
50k€ are not realistic for a brand new vehicle.
The prices are based on a sales-concept called 'Tageszulassung' (one day registration): The vehicles get registered on the dealership for a short period (but don't get used), which officially renders them second-hand-cars. This allows the dealer to define his own price, circumventing the price settings of Toyota.
All have the 4.0 V6 petrol (1GR-FE V6).
Side note: The ads say they can deliver the vehicles with 228hp factory side now; The usual 261hp remain available, though.
GRJ78 ~59k€
GRJ79 Double Cab ~60k€
GRJ76 LX /w diff locks and winch ~63k€
GRJ79 Single Cab or Double Cab LX /w diff locks ~65k€ (+2k for a winch).
That are basically stock vehicles with alloys.
Customized vehicles range 82k€ and up.
[Just examples from only one random dealer, no affiliates, no guarantee]
Keep on saving! Cheers Ralf

Sure Ralph, Ι'm aware that if one is looking for a well equipped truck with extras such as diff locks, winch, alloy wheels etc. is well above the 50,000. Especially for the long wheel-base models GRJ78 and 79.
However, fact is that a base model, e.g. the 5door GRJ76 is available brand new for 51,990 (the GRJ71 for 49,990), according to their mobile.de ads of yesterday.
I took note of this, because it is (still) an option in Europe, which, unfortunately, Mudders in other places (e.g. in the USA) do not have...
Cheers, Demetrios

PS. ...and sure, the One-day-registration/Tageszulassung is a asset they make good use, both dealer and client, in Germany!

crikey!
awesome

...had its roof replaced (not sure why).
Maybe so it'll fit in parking garages :meh: looks like they shaved a few inches off the height.

To fit in low height underground parkings.

Hello,

The windshield looks modified as well. It has round corners.

Went for a Christmas Day walk today… literally two blocks from home I found a Troopy. Not sure if these guys are collectors or dealers but they often have interesting rigs parked outside!
This looks to be a turbo’ed HZJ75 from Australia with under 200K on the clock. Respray, but looked well done (fender lines) and generally a nice-looking rig. Interesting to see the solid rear windows.

Hello,

Ages ago, one of the first 75 Series Troopies I saw, an FJ75, had solid rear windows. Incidentally, it was the same color as the one you came across.

Nothing says utilitarian as solid rear windows on a Troopie.

The BJ70 Series is too far gone, I am afraid...
