I'm looking at finally raising my truck up, I just need a little help on finding the right amount of lift to add to my truck to accommodate the wheel size I want to run. I would like to 35X12.50 tires with enough room for the tires to get stuffed up into the wheel wells. I was wondering if a 3.5 suspension lift and maybe a coil spacer would be enough of a lift to work. I don't want to get a huge lift and have the tires look all small and dinky you know. All input is appreciated...Thanks

I run Slee's 4inch lift and love it.. Im adding a 1in spacer up front to level it out also.

315s will fit under a factory height 80. in most cases. IMPO the 2.5-3" lift looks great with 315s any taller and its time to go to a 37"

This is why I love this board:) Thank you for your help peeps.

How do your trucks perform with 315's? City driving - Off road performance?

I run OME J's front and rear with a 1" spacer in the front and 35x12.50x15s with a 3.5" bs wheel and 1" wheel spacers, works great!, no rubbing and no bump stop extentions either.

This is on a 95, so anyone that tells you you can't run 15's on these trucks are flat out wrong.

I would recommend regearing though, I ran the stock gears for a year or so before swaping for 5.29's and couldn't b happier.

Good luck

im running Js front and rear as well with a 1" front spring spacer. factory wheels. 1.5" spacers on the way to my house. ( janaury 3rd)
i am factory geared. i plan on going 529 because i will eventually go to a 37'
how does yours do with the 529s and 315s?

Not bad, I have an Ultragauge for spedo corrections and its off by around ~11 mph at 60 (actual speed)

In other words, the speedo reads 71 and I'm going 60.

It's my daily driver if u can believe it and has been for 3 years now, 2 of which with 35's.

I have been running the gears for 8 months now and love them!

I used to go through u joints all the time with my stock gears, I'm talkin every 2,000 miles or so, and I tried all different kinds/brands. The only thing i could attribute it to is trying to spin larger tires with stock gears.

Put 10,000 miles on since the gears and no problems at all.

We actually sell Yukon's on our site: www.ironcladoffroad.com

My partner and I both installed "USA Standard Gear" in our yottas we also sell them and they're a good product at a fair price.

Shoot me a pm or drop me an email on our site if you're interested.

Good luck

ok sweet. ill let you know when im ready to do the gear swap. front or rear u joints?

Both, but the rear on the axle side was the worst despite a perfect pinion angle.

Next question is what kind of changes did you have to make for the drive lines using the 4" Slee lift with the 1" coil spacer?

None at all, just extended brake lines, slee cc plates, drop brackets for the rear swaybar, took the front off, and that's it.

I do have a heavy rig, about 6500# and a lot of weight over the front, winch, duel batteries, bumper, sliders, etc.

But also have a rear bumper and drawers full of tools in the rear, it sits 100% level, no stink bug here lol.

If you can keep that lift to about 2.5 inches or less, you will spend a lot less on the other mods you would have to do with a 4 or 6 inch lift. The larger lifts can induce some vibrations that may require a DC driveshaft, adjustable lower or upper control arms, etc that add up to a lot of money quickly.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but the OME J's are the heavy duty springs right?

I believe 850 and 863 are the "heavy" springs, while the J springs are longer versions of them.
