The only thing that I think does not work on my FJ80 is the radio. I don't know if it the "security" code is activated, or simply the radio is fried. I can see the buttons that reads CD, radio, tape come on when I press them, however the rest of the radio looks dead. I look at the owner's manual and gives instructions on how to unlock a security code. I think I did followed the steps shown on the manual, it calls for a factory code but since I bought this rig from a used car dealer, he has no clue on that code, but the radio is still dead.

None of my radios ever had codes. Anyone else?

Make sure to check all your fuses it should have two power sources, one for memory and the other for power. The mem supply being out can cause something like you describe.

If it is locked it should show that on the display. If it is you can take the truck to a Toyota dealer and they can reset the code. Some places charge, some don't.

Yup, unless you have the PO's secret code (you have to put in the old one before you can make a new one) you will have to get it reset at a dealer.

Every time you have to disconect your battery you will have the same problem, only you will be the keeper of the code.

(I use the three digits on my licence plate)

Where are these two fuses? In the fuse box inside the vehicle or outside in the engine compartment ?

If the radio in the 92 is the same as a 95, it will say "SEC" when first turned on if a security code has been programmed into it.

BTW, I have a working unit from a 95. PM me if interested.

@jvazquez53 Were you able to determine what the problem was with the radio on your FJ80? I can also see the buttons that reads CD, radio, tape come on when I press them, however the rest of the radio looks dead.

How did you solve this?

thanks!!!
