I am looking for a mod for my radio in my 08. Has anyone been successful with a different radio or a good replacement? I've seen some Chinese replacements but don't trust that route. I'd like to be able to stream Bluetooth from my phone or iPad maybe upgrade the gps.

The HVAC (among other features) is a part of the MFD. You're hosed like the rest of us.

Ger yourself a Ram mount like below for your tablet (I might sell mine as I'm going to a different, larger, Win10 tab). Then get a Bluetooth module like Vaistech.

Thanks Tony, I figured as much. I'd be interested in your mount. Als, I love your bumpers from Jason, can't wait for them to go live on production.

Are you happy with that tablet location? Isn't it blocking all the radio controls?

Counterpoint: I have factory Bluetooth integration for audio streaming, and honestly I'm not impressed. Sound quality is definitely compromised for convenience of instant wireless, touchless connection as soon as you start the truck. Hopefully the VAIS or GROM units are better, but you're better off using the AUX connection if you care about quality.

FYI... I had a long talk with a rep at Crutchfield last week about speaker upgrades. Yah, he eventually pretty much said "you're screwed" thanks to the 2 ohm ratings on the factory speakers.

I originally ran my work Windows tablet. Fwiw those are heavy and will work your ram mount over. The iPad is much more forgiving in the weight class.

Yeah I'm looking to add a brace to the arm. The Galaxy TabPro I ordered is only 200 grams more than the Galaxy tab 10.5 I have in there now but I'm still going to brace it. Main reason for going with a Windows tablet is the ability to run Techstream without lugging my computer everywhere.
