radiator support rod (1 Viewer)

I am trying to see where I can get the Left radiator support rod. I found the part on spector but it is no longer available. It is the support rod for the radiator on passenger side. The one on mine was half A%$ fixed by PO and is held in place on the radiator with a cable tie around the rod where a nut should go. Its a 78 FJ40. Spector part number is 112-81D. Does anyone know if this part is available through Toyota or available elsewhere. I appreciate the help.

If this is the part I think it is...

I just went to the car parts store, bought a battery mounting hook, bent the base into a hole vs the hook it comes with, and then bent it to fit my truck. I used the factory bolt to secure it.

It works perfectly.

A long threaded rod from Home Despot could be bent and used to the same effect.

No - but the site I pulled those prices up from generally tells me right off the bat if they're unavailable. If you know something Steve do you care to share it?

Well, I went to the local Toyota Dealership. They don't have that part in the warehouse but it is available from Japan. They had no idea how long it would take to get here. The price for it was just under 4 bucks. I am deploying in a few weeks so don't have time to wait. I just wanted to replace it before I left, the current one has had better days.

I just tried to order one of these from Amayama. I need one rod for the project I am working on. I can certainly make my own but would rather just use OEM.

If it comes back as available I will let you all know.

For sure and I am adding a custom radiator overflow bottle so it looks best to modify the mount anyways.
