Yo Crushers, What was the high temp. up there today and I do not mean in a 2L-TE radiator? Remember I am American so will have to convert from celsius to fahrenheit. .............1978HJ45

Crushers: You jerking my string or was it really that warm in your region of Canada yesterday. I learned in grade school ( many, many years ago ) that Canada was frozen 11 months out of the year. Temps. in the mid 30's and you guys are disconnecting condensers. Now I am impressed!!

hummm, your in the US right? they teach that myth to keep you boys from flooding over the border.

i remember seeing a vehicle decades ago with US plates coming over in August with a set of snow skis on the roof. the driver thought he could go skiing up here then. silly boy.

not pulling your leg at all.
the week before was 9 (if i remember correctly, it was a humid fog induced mind set those days) days of 32C with a humidex of 44C. the nights got down to 24C. too bloody warm for me.

I never said our schools were actually any good. I would gladly flood across the border if they would let me return south with a good HJ75 trayback without asking any questions. ( assuming that Cruiser is even in Canada). I guess I could bring back several cases of maple syrup and convince Customs that the trip was farm related. Take care.....1978HJ45

no HJ75 that i know of here...
maple syrup is a horded commodity in Ontario this year. the sap flowed for a very short period.
of course you could shop in Oz for some thing like this one i picked up recently (look for the build starting next month)
crap 001.webp
crap 003.webp
crap 004.webp

No maple syrup, no HJ75, your arrogant hockey team......I might as well stay on my side of the border. .......1978HJ45

hi guys mine is happy never change the heads (91 prado)with acc on & idle at 1100 rpm under the sun for20 minutes or so ,the temp stay at 1/3 all the way &inside temp for today 19-20 C compare 26-28 C outside temp, converted to r-134-a. every component is bone stock under the hood.this is what i did to it,
make sure rad ,viscous fan, hoses , thermostate rad cap & coolant are top shape. i drove it all the way up to lake luise, jasper & down.this is my every day drive truck . so pls do check what i have just mention. cheers,,,.

The operating temp. while idling has never been an issue. It actually runs very cool at idle. The temps. that concern me somewhat is at road speeds with the A/C on. The A/C condenser is certainly adding heat to the radiator because you will see a drop of 10 degrees when you turn off the A/C for a while. However with afternoon temps in excess of 100 degrees (F) you do not want the A/C for long. Thanks, 1978HJ45
.....One more thing to mention: I would not put a lot of faith in the factory water temp. gauge. After installing a good quality aftermarket gauge I realized the factory version was not even remotely accurate...

Crushers....Even though I hate to admit it on a public forum I do occassionally take your advice. You can wipe that smirk off of your face now. ..................1978HJ45

So guys, I put back my "new" repaired radiator. Its now 4 core, everything looks like new. Also the tubes, where the coolant is running are bigger diameter (i don't know how much). The price was 450$ and now I am just worry if those 4 screws can hold the added weight of rad. Works just perfect! And I rather put 88C thermostat back in instead of the 82C.
Really good spent money.

82C is better... IMNSHO.
the additional weight is minor, don't worry about it.
get a pyro installed right away if you don't have one
and
seriously
an after market coolant temp gauge is a great recommendation.
