I searched past threads and could not find much on the stock radiator size so here goes.

I purchased a radiator yesterday that it supposed to fit my 74 fj40. When I put the radiator in it appears to be to tall to shut the hood although I haven't tried it yet. My fj is a 74 with a 71 engine and tranny in it. My fj has the "Beam Bracket" which looks like the radiator is suppsed to fit in but the lower water port on the bottom left side of the radiator will not allow the radiator to sit on the way in. Am I missing a bracket or a radiator part? Also what are the dimensions of the radiator supposed to be?

are you saying the lower hose port is on the left side would that be the driver side, or the pass side? it's supposed to be on the pass side.

pics help also.

The lower radiator port is on the passenger side. I will get some pics posted also..

AFAIR all 40 series radiators are the same size, excluding 79-84 rigs with a/c. the mounting holes on the side changed in some years but the actual dimensions are the same. I think.

The dimensions on the radiator they sold me is 21in. wide. 22in. tall and 3 in deep. Is this right?
