i have a radiator in my garage that is in good shape but the lil' ridges on one side are bent in at couple of spots. Not major. Does that effect the way the radiator works?

Brass is a better transfer agent for heat than aluminum. Also, brass radiators can be soldered easily and reliably, so are easier to repair than aluminum units. The aluminum are widely used for racing, where weight is always an issue, and long term reliability takes a back seat.

OEM is good, but pricey, Shop around, you can buy radiators that are gauranteed for life from the manufacturer.

Performance Radiators, under $200, OEM quality, I use them in any cruiser that needs a new rad, I am very pleased with them....and I am a OEM nut ;)

I found one at a local radiator shop and it turned out to be cheaper than anything on the web. Might be worth a check first.

they are local in Tacoma, but I am pretty sure there is a Performance in Seattle(because they had to get my rad for my fj40 from Seattle to Tacoma), but get a price from their internet site, then call them and ask for the internet price, they will give it to you. We get a little better price thru Connies shop, but its not much less.

If a few fins are bent, shouldn't be a big deal. However, since the radiator is nothing more than a big heat exchanger, you don't want to have too many that are bent or else the (cooling) airflow will be restricted resulting in less efficiency.
