They also change in elevation front to back being the highest in the middle. The center 4 mounting points are .25” higher than the four corner ones.

Slight curve to the channel, refer to pic.

Thanks Yossarian. That's very helpful. Looks like it is fairly straight in the back, with more curves towards the front (and perhaps more forward of the front mount?). Maybe a little shaping, but not too much.

Thanks Monster. I think I could handle that. The bar may flex enough and/or I could use some shims.

I don’t like Prinu racks for one reason. Mounting surface area. On Front Runner racks, they have big mounting spacers that are the same size as the factory rack that distribute the load across about 3-4” by the full width of the roof channel.

Not defending the Prinsu design, just an FYI. In the early Tacoma World forum discussions this very issue was brought up. When the Rack was sold to another vendor I called them and suggested they make a Front Runner style spacer, didn't expect much and that's what I got.

Now if your resourceful, @littlegreenmonster , you make your own.

I’m here for you buddy.

Side note, I’m gonna have Bud build me a wind fairing. It’s not something I’m gonna do soon, maybe later this year. But I’m sure he could just make two of you wanted one.

Let us know how the foxwing goes. I had, and sold an old one, but it was because I had to carry the pole separate. I just recently found out the new one had the poles always in the awning. Which makes it great.

Can I get in on the wind deflector group buy?;)

After using the awning several times I have to say that I'm very pleased with the purchase. The pole situation is nifty, with how they just snap in place. Makes setup VERY easy.

We do have extension pieces that zip in to create walls. So, we still have to carry a small bag that includes the wall and poles.
