quick release cargo barrier?? roof top tent?

I'm heading out on a 2 month road trip starting September and im trying to figure a sleeping situation out.
when I camp I will remove the 2 lower bolts on my cargo barrier and loosen the top 2 and angle the barrier out of the way.
This will be a royal pain to do this when travelling.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this a quick release system - I'm blanking on ideas - or alternatives?

I have considered an RTT and may have a line on a good one for a little under $1000 but will then have to drop 1000 on a prinsu rack.

the photo below just shows the barrier - the crap in the back - most of that wont come with me.

I have never owned a cargo barrier. I like the idea in the event of a crash. Traveling solo, can it be mounted right behind the front seats?

How is it mounted? My wife has a Travall pet/cargo barrier that has plastic knobs that make it easy to remove quickly. You may be able to rig something similar.

It’s all bolted in - it doesn’t take too long but I like the idea of moving the cargo barrier to 2nd row seat if possible

Just checked and moving the whole barrier setup to the 2nd row would work perfect to use the grab handles in those seats - just move the whole mounting set up forward - unfortunately the roof panel drops about 1.5 to 2 inches so the cargo rack will hit the ceiling and likely not fit - worth a try though. An interesting project I have on my hand..,,.-and yeah traveling solo! Cheers!

Found this thread that describes a behind 1st row net. Looks decent and could work for a few months - opens up the whole back!

Glad I could be of help/send you down a rabbit hole. Please post up your experience and the end result. I have always liked the idea of the webbing vs the hard metal from an egress/extraction in an actual real use situation.

oh gawd....you just pointed out one of their versions has molle mounts...... haha - rabbit hole found.

I am looking at mounting one of these to my rear swing out so when I open the slee bumper I have a lttle extra cook prep real estate

Thought I’d post up a photo of the speski barrier relocated to behind 1st row seats I think a longer top bracket arm and 2 x 1 inch drop post from grab handle posts and this could work…..
