Not on your list butttttt..........1hz turbo intercooled barely puffs a inch of black soot, sounds almost as quiet as a gas engine with the turbo..torque of the non 1hz with fairly high compression crawls ubber nice.

I do not think you have the length for a Black Box?

Burn some veggie oil from a fish and chip place, make the guys behind you hungry..

If it's for your wife/significant other go gas, otherwise there is no question as to the correct engine.

Why not send it with a Toyota twin turbo V8 diesel. :)

Will they fit? I thought that's why the 2007+ 7* series have the wider front.

I doubt it Rosco in it's current configuration it's a pain to replace the starter in a 200 series and I have read the single turbo workmate is no better.
The six cylinder 12ht 1hdt 1hdft rule in my book for ease off maintenance plus stuff all electrics. :)

The twin-turbo 1VDFTV was never available OE in the 7x, VDJ200 only though there are some in Aus who were/have going to attempt to swap despite the clearance issues and oil pan variances. The OE 7x got the single turbo V8 and while it's no slouch to drive even with a heavily loaded truck (think VDJ79 with 9 fuel drums in the rear plus standard gear), the twin-turbo is amazing. I spent some time in HEMA Maps VDJ200, it also benefits from a chip, exhaust, etc. Oh baby, that was a special feeling :D

As for your original inquiry Tor, if the fuel economy alone doesn't swoon you over I seen no reason not to go with the 1FZ. Parts are plentiful, weaknesses are well known and the diesels have more value to you in a customers vehicle than your own seeing as your not married to the idea of diesel.

I think I made a decision. Well, a customer made the decision for me and bought my 1HD-T. So I just bought this GX470 to swap the engine into my 74. It's a 2006 2UZ with VVT-I and 93k miles. I think it'll be a fun project ;-)

Please document that. I suspect it will be an interesting build ...

I will definitely be interested to see how this plays out.
