I have a 1979 FJ43...

Go modern or classic look?

Modern- BFG KO2/KM3

Classic- Deestones D503

Most people are saying 235/85 or 7.50 are the perfect size, but would 245/75/16 work and look right?

I'm asking because I am able to get 4 new BFG Ko2 for $600, this weekend.

Or should I go classic with Deestones D503 7.50x16 for like $420.

Thank you!!!

If you want to drive it go BFG. If you want to wheel it go with the DEE's

A little of both with a Swamper radial TSL. I wore out a set of 35 x 14.50s and thought they worked fine on the highway.
They make a 32 x 10.5 for a more stock look.
The Swamper TSL ( non radial ) was my favorite in the rocks of the southwest during our rock crawling competitions.
They worked best with a slow turning tire. The straight six works better turning slow. If you're running a v-8 and like to get
the wheels spinning, the bfg krawlers would be my choice

I ran the Deestones and they are loud as hell and rough as a cob.

Get the BFG.

if you have a 16” wheel get the 750-16 KM3 or the 235/85-16 ATKO

The red truck has 750-16 KM3. I removed the Deestone for these and it was like getting a new truck with ride improvement

I think it comes down to if your rig is stock ride height and what you do with it. I bought KO2’s for my ‘78 out of practicality but still like the looks of the KM2 or KM3 better.
