I'm not sure about the length, but if the holes are different depths, then it should be obvious.

My experience is that the larger number jet goes in the secondary.

i just recently pulled the slow jets from my later carb. primary was stamped 5.5 and secondary stamped 9.0.

The shorter one goes on the primary side. And, as Pin_Head surmised, the longer one will not fit in the primary side.
