you have a high pillar tub and the top is not. Other than that it's the same style as you would have had.

nice cruiser!

Like Wes said...the picture below shows a top with the Hi-Post as you have. The HiPost was up until 1963 models.

High pillar tops should be easier to find. The 64/65 were the only years of the low pillar. This top was imported on the FJ25 from 59. I believe a few 58 production date 25 made it to the US. Hard tops aren't to hard to find. It's just finding them close enough. I have a few in AZ.

Check with John (Pardion here on mud) He is in central CA and a lot closer. He had a bunch of old cruiser parts stashed away.

I see you in your pictures you said you put the original turn signals back on. Were these the the dual lens ones? Do you have the correct rear seats for a 61?

not sure about the dual lens but I did get a nice set of repro early signals. I had to because it had 55 watt FOG LIGHTS and everytime I used the turn signal it would royally blow the fuse. I do actually have the factory rear seats if someone needs photos need to get them re-upholsered but intact. I also have those wacky pull up and push up windows too. The PO had it in high school in 1993 and the first thing he did was dump the top at the dump. I was so pissed off to find out.

Pics of the pig if you haven't seen them here

I'm in the eugene, or area if anyone has a high pillar top they'd like to see get used again, not a big fan of the $1.5K just need a good top from a true Fj40 lover without a passion for paying rent with it. <respectfully>

thanks for the great info tough to get a straight answer these days!!!

Pics of my 1961

see it at my google pics here

Not just the Bezel (believe it or not...some can still be found...even though they are not cheap...BTW...you need to paint it white with a maroon in the letters...just saying :D) but that front bumper you will not find anywhere !!!!:eek::eek:

That reminds me, someone is actually working at reproducing those very early front bumpers with the curved end , but I would be very careful with it just the same.

The real problem with us old corrugated top guys, is finding one locally, as Living In The Past noted earlier. There are more than a few that would be great for your rig, but they will most certainly all need to be shipped :frown: I also like the fact that you still have the older/original slider glass doors...they are also very hard to find.

All in all, a great place to start for a true restoration :D

Very sweet and original early 40 you have there!!! I also have the proper side you need but unfortunately I am on the wrong Coast.... but if all else fails I got what you need.

I have to say I noticed something new I hadn't seen on your early 40. It appears your vintag is in the style of the FJ25's and not the like the ones on my any of my '62s.

5 years ago I would have said your on crack for saying that :D ...but...your right there has been a few now and then hasnt there

I know...it's crazy!!! Now everyone is jumping on tool kits...wonder what's next

Those are the 63 thru early 69 turn signals. The original ones had red lenses on the back side. Post a picture of you gas cap. I'm sorry to say but I believe that has been changed. Looks like the whole filler neck may have been changed. The stamped bezel have gone for as high a $600 on ebay. Not that you can get repos for a few hunderd I doubt you'll ever see the price that high again.

Nice rig! What are your plans for the old girl? It looks like you have a nice project. I have the sides your looking for. If that is your top pictured above I would be willing to do an even swap. Shipping can't be more than $100. I had an entire tub with top shipped for $350 from SoCal.
