When I bought my 72 FJ40 FST 3 spd floor shift about 8 years ago it came with a spare trans and transfer case. It’s been sitting in my garage that whole time. I haven’t done much with it but I did notice it has these missing teeth. I have plenty of tools and space. I once rebuilt the top end of a Volkswagen motor and it seemed to run well. The transfer case moves very smooth, bearings feel tight and no missing teeth in there.
1. Are these tough to rebuild?
2. Are there modifications I can make to it to improve it if I swap it into my 72?
