there are 3 different wiring variations in a USA Spec. fj40 from 73-83

- several NON usa variations as well during that pro date windows ,

PLUG and PLAY ?


if you move the wires around to the correct terminals bays locations , then YES ,

left alone as is ?


NO FJ40 head lights switch is 100% plug and play on ALL fj40's across the board mark ...........

u have the :


- 60010 switch box platform

- 60011

- 60020

- 60030


- and 60012 also

not to mention the special SOUTH Africa ONLY Spec. 60040 and 60041 24v stand alone illuminated rheostat dimmer Varietees too


so your question is NOT a simple PLUG and Play answer ..............
