Are they 4 door wagons like the LJ78/79?

Are they widely available in Japan?

Do they come with the light duty drivetrain of a LJ78/79 or a heavy-duty drivetrain of a B/HJ 70/75?

They are 4 door wagons like the LJ78 but they have the heavy duty front fenders, hood and grille. I believe PZ/HZJ77's are Japanese market only.

They have post-90 HD drivetrain (small HP front, large rear) and follows the HD changes when the coil sprung front come to the line in 2000, then they become the HZJ76. The PZJ was discontinued sometime in the mid 90's.

Many come with a semifloat rear, but some got a full house FF with factory disc brakes and diff lock.

to add to Dave's post.
they are 5 seaters where as the 7LJ78 are 8 passenger
the interiors are more basic than the LJ units.
Dave is probably right with the semi floater vesres the FF but all the ones i have seen have had the FF rear.
most of the HZJ77 are autos while the PZJ are manuals.
i am sure more will be added as time goes by.
