yah, i was looking at that ad earlier.
the one needs way too much work for the price
the other isn't bad but can't be legally registered in NA.

buyer be warned.

i am looking at this one though:
which can be legally registered in Canada
LHD
NOT an exmine truck
gasser 5 speed (but i have a 1HZ to install if i want)
NO rust
NO dents

waiting for an inspection.

they are out there, you just need to be able to shop.

after going down the ex-mine truck road a few times, it just isn't worth the effort and cost for a truck that could be seized from you.

Wayne,
You need a H55 box for 1HZ swap.

Perhaps a stupid question ( I am capable of those on a regular basis ) but is the gasser gearbox not hardy enough to handle a Diesel engine?

different input shaft
i am thinking of trying a modified bellhousing to fit the H55 from a gasser behind the 1HZ

Could a US citizen get a truck like that registered down south??
Couldn't tell from the photos, RHD or Lefty?

Sadly, from all the digging I've done, it needs to be 25 or older. People have brought in newer ones but I have no idea how......other than one gentleman I spoke to and he has a DOD contract (of some sorts) and can bring in whatever he wants for training purposes. Or become a diplomat, allegedly.

Carl, Since you live in the "Republic of Texas" you might have different import laws.
Your current Governor would probably import it for you just to p*ss off the Federal
Government. :D

Hi! I believe you can bring in newer if kept on a farm ,mine or bring it in pieces. Mike

That is true in most States however the vehicle would not be titled and therefore not legal to drive on the highway. A lot of money for a farm toy. :)

Republic of Texas

Charles, I'd have a truck like that if any legal way to do it and just not worth the risk. Perry wouldn't help me out, I got in a major pissing match with him a few years ago and I'm quite sure he hasn't forgot ( I won)!
On the other hand, I will issue you a Texas citizenship card if you want to join us when we bail out of the U.S.......but only if you bring your toys!:)

Sounds like a deal. :D
....and this is coming from a guy who lives in a State where the "stars and bars" still flies from most front porches.
