Putting in my old school stereo in my fj. Anyone else have same Era gear in their rigs? Or even if not, show me your custom stereos!

Great Sq amps. What 10 inch were you running?
Started with Kicker, but that amp could rip the voice coil off the cone in a bout 20 seconds. Finally ended up with a dual-coil long-throw Rockford (I think) that could handle the power. It's been a long while.

Do you still have it? Or the Bostons? And if so do you want to sell them?
Oh no. Sold the whole system moons ago when I sold the car. It was a competition rig and the car was ... pretty loose after all that. Haven't touched 'the stuff' since. lol

Olympian,

You won't be able to fit the BA's in the door without custom pods. The mounting depth will be too deep. The fronts are a bear because the stock location butts up to the dash pad. The rear is doable, but you will need a spacer. Even then, you'll need to install a safety stop on the power window frame.

There is a hole in the lowering gear arm??? that allowed me to stick a bolt into it. That acted as a stop. Otherwise, the window frame will hit the wiring or basket on rolling down.

The products you picked are period correct for a 91-94. A late model FZJ80 would probably be more period correct with an MP3 playing CD player, focal or dynaudio components, and a McIntosh car amplifier.

The quarts are from early to mid 90s I bought them brand new in 95. But the amps are 96, and the subs are 97. And the Bostons I think are 97s as well.

I had some MB Quart components back around 2001--until I got robbed! Same car also had the wheels stolen off of it and was left sitting on the brakes. It's a honda thing :hillbilly:

All this gear came out of my 97 civic coupe that I drove off the lot with 48 miles on it when I was 16. I still have it, It has 94,000 original miles and is about to get a full jdm front clip and rear bumper. I am going to b18c5 swap it and turn it into a track day car.

I was a fan of the Phoenix Gold M series and PPI Art Series (Should have been called Asia album artwork series).

Now if you can produce a Zapco 200A or an Orion HCCA, post up.
I used to have an old skool Pheonix Gold in the 80. That thing rocked. But enough hard wheeling and dust I think was its demise. I went with fanless Kenwood. Not near the same, but works.

FWIW it was pushing a JL W7, LOVE that sub.

I had a '92 eg hatch with a b16a and later a b20z. Fun autocross car, although never competitive due to the class the motor swap put it into (or because of the doofus behind the wheel :hillbilly: ) Eventually tore the whole interior out and really stripped it down to bare essentials.
