Pulled the trigger OME suspension (1 Viewer)

I noticed today while driving there is a low sounding vibration between 25 and 30 mph. It only occurs when I'm pressing the gas. If I let off the gas at that speed it goes away. This is something that's just started since I put the lift on. Any suggestions?

After a mild lift like that, first place I'd look would be the u-joints. They are operating at slightly higher angles after the recent altitude adjustment.

Wouldn't the u-joints keep making the noise regardless if I had the gas pedal down or not? This noise only occurs between 25-30 and only when the gas pedal is pressed. As soon as I let up on the gas the noise goes away. I can check out the u joints. If someone can explain why the noise would go away when the gas isn't pressed I'm all ears.

hmmm, exhaust rattle on something after the lift? Mine bounces on the frame at very low rpms under load...that's my downshift warning signal.

Good looking rig..... bring it to the Cruiser Crawl in Alabama.

Flex it out & hang with some other cruiser folks.

I'm considering doing this next spring, as my OEM springs with the Add-A-Leafs have such a harsh ride. And I'd like to put 33's underneath and regear so that I can have a diff to tire size ratio that's somewhat closer to factory than what I'm running now.

Concerning the Cruiser lean, mine has sat level since I installed the AALs, but it did lean quite a bit beforehand.

it might be the pinion angle giving a little vibration. if its bad you could put in some shims to see if that takes care of it.

Nope, the pinion angle changes slightly when under acceleration or when braking. The axle is literally twisting slightly underneath the rig in response to applied forces. It could change as much as 4 degrees total as is, and even more with a poorly designed suspension or with a healthy V8 underhood.
Check the u-joints ( if they're original or nearly so, it's time to change 'em anyway as part of normal PM), and check the pinion/flange for looseness at the same time.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined, so what exactly am I looking for on the u joints? Unusual wear or funky angles or what?

If the mileage and maintenance history of the vehicle is unknown, just replace them. Cheap insurance.

just got my ome lit on and im haveing the same problem mine seems worse im going to try ujoints and see what happens for some reason i think that it is my swaybar but probably not ill replace my joints next weekend and tell you how it goes they need to be done anyway. on the note of spring pins absolute nightmare to get out and when i go to fire up oll victor cutting torch ill be dammed if its out of accetline and its getting late on saturday better bust out the air hammer.took like an hour and a half to get one of them.

Lucasfj60; I posted up in your post about this, but you might want to also consider getting the drive shaft balanced. There is a possibility a weight may have come off during install or it came apart and didn't get put back together in phase. That was the problem with mine.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. I love my OME lift. Money well spent. Service second to none. Look & ride is awesome.
