Has anyone ever replaced their PS pump? How much of a PITA? Any words of wisdom? My '97 FZJ80 has 153k miles and the pumps growling.

Nice write up Dan, thanks. So it sounds like the job is done from underneath the vehicle? I looked in the engine compartment tonight and thought, "OMG, there's a lot of stuff in the way!"
I put some Downey in last night as you suggested. Today, as I was driving home I had a noticible growl. I had a pretty good squeal when I started it up this afternoon, too. I also added some fluid last night because it looked low. I'm concerned because I couldn't tell if the growl was the PS pump or the tranny. I know the tranny fluid needs to be exchanged, too.
