So the idiot who mounted my exhaust did so without putting any rubber exhaust hangers on the mounts so at first the rig shook like a fiend going through withdrawal under acceleration. I put in some generic rubber mounts from autozone but they only ameliorated the issues slightly. I'm considering using the style where you don't use the mount, but actually hang the exhaust pipe in a bracket where the bracket is attached to rubber and then the rubber is attached to a piece of metal that attaches to the frame. I believe it's called a walker hanger.

Anyway. I figured there was probably a Toyota specific method or part for this and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on reducing the harmonic resonance from the exhaust.

I know the one at the very back where the resonator is inline near the last stretch of tailpipe uses a rubber block as part of the hanger. The rubber block is less than $5 IIRC, about as cheap as an 80 series exhaust part gets. The hanger itself is specific to that location. The rubber block arrangement may be used forward of that, but don't recall. Sure would help with your issue.

I've got nothing constructive to add here except I now know what "ameliorated" means. tomake or become better, more bearable,or more satisfactory;improve. Another words "mo betta".
