Used some of the sheet steel left over and made a cover for where the stock heater blower use to be. Mounted the Robb MC power surge there instead. Just need to clean up the cover and paint it.

Also fabricated a bracket from angle iron for a generic radiator overflow container. Thanks to @ToyotaMatt for the mounting hardware.

Then marveled at the previous owners sweet electrical skills.

Robb MC power surge is mounted for good. Cleaned the mounting plate up and added Zinc hardware with fender washers.

Where did you get your new U bolts for the suspension?

BTB sells a well priced kit that includes inversion shackles, hangers, and u-bolts. Call them as I don’t see it on their site anymore. It was around $250 shipped.

Thanks. Our 71 needs the same thing you did. Split the springs paint and rebuild. Do the shackles give a slight lift?

The shackles I replaced were pretty beat as well as the bushings. So with that said I am not sure. I did gain some slight height, but I feel like it came from everything tightening up on the ends and center.

@SlapSmak was telling me you can buy shackles that will give you a slight lift without having to buy all new springs. I will give BTB a call.

I despise prepping for paint. All new steel welded in and a thin layer of metal reinforced bondo to cover some of the low spots on the curve. Might just shoot Eastwood two party epoxy primer today.

Just about showtime. Emblems are on again. Just to take them back off. Hopefully the last holes I need to put in new panels.

Started getting the garage ready and discovered the Willys door strap circles are the same as the ones offered from Toyota. Threaded right in. Also mounted the rear badges just to pull them back off for wet sanding.

Eastwood two part epoxy is down. Great stuff.

Spent a full day wet sanding and then shot it.

Mounted up the fenders. Old paint vs new paint. Once the old paint is cleaned up it won’t be as bad as it looks here.

Added a new bumper and some OEM Fog lights I’ve had on the shelf for a decade.
