yeah man, i hear ya. no color decision yet...it's going to be a solid so red or tan probably...
 
update...

the tear-down continues. Classes start this week so I have been busy getting ready for them. I had a chance to work in it for a couple hours yesterdat though and I have all the doors completely disssembled to the bare shell. Still need to do the hatch and tailgate, and finish up the fire wall, then its time for A LOT of degreasing/cleanup to get it ready for paint.

I have a set of diesel fenders (no vents) I am going to use but they are in VT, so i also need find a way to get those down here to SC...

Did you make the storage system for the rear? Would you have the plans? This would work great for storing dog training equipment and carrying the dog crates. Thanks

unfortunately, no. The plans were a bunch of pencil marks on scratch paper, and I am not sure where that is. The design is a simple box that fit snuggly between the wheel wells and is the same height, with two drawers on heavy duty slides. then, a top panel was cut to fit the contours of the rear cargo area and mounted to the box to make the level loading platform. Hatch doors were then cut into the top for access from above. To avoid the drawers from over extending too far beyond the tailgate and overloading the slides, there is a seperate 8"-10" compartment in the box just behind the rear seats accessible from the top via a 60/40 split. The drawers also have modular dividers so I can adjust the size of the drawer compartments.

FINALLY, a little progress...

I got some time in on the cruiser this weekend, just in time for start of classes again :rolleyes:

I have decided to go ahead and pull the axles and swap the frames so i can sell them for my paint fund. I removed both axles and the suspension except one rear spring due to stubborn bushings...I was pleased to discover upgraded swaybars and extended rear shackles the springs don't appear factory either.

I also got some picks of the dents I pulled in the rear quarter. Because of the future use of the cruiser and vulnerability of the rear quarters, I am not going to use bondo anywhere on this project. my goal here was just to pull the dents enough to look somewhat respectable and get the taillight lens to seal properly.

Looks great! Someday my cruiser will get a similar treatment.
