Sorry that nice sunny day was spent walking the Haymount Hill from house to house.

Today i am going down there again but to get some fire wood for next winter. Free is always good.

Some updates from today.

Spent most of the morning / afternoon cutting / moving / stacking wood for this next winter. One of my customers was dropping tree's around his place and was taking the wood to the dump. So ofcourse i asked if i could get some and he set some aside for me.

Once i got done with that i went ahead and took apart a fj60 front axle that i had got a few months back. I really wanted it for the brake stuff and the lockouts. Sorry but no pics of that.

That by the way was just one truck load. And all of it was from branches of this tree.

Would love to cut some more, and will ask him for some more this week. Heck it saves him from taking it to the dump. The base of this tree is about 3 to 4 feet across. My little chainsaw with the 24 inch blade would have no chance.

Darin, very sorry to hear about your loss. Let us know if there is anything you need.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family Darin. It's sad we are loosing all of the Patriots that helped secure our great country so many years ago.

Some good news this afternoon.

My Tranny shipped yesterday, and my xfer will ship next week.

I'm stoked.

That's going to be a nice drivetrain! Go ahead and order the 39.5/17 IROKs now instead of 37s. It will save you from having to do it later. If you get some 30 spline Longs for the front to go with the centered rear diff axle, you won't have any problems running 39.5s.

Not too much to report today.

Spent more time doing the honey do list. IE getting more wood / free bricks ( from a house built in 54 ) / lumber.

Made the front of the house nice a few years ago so now working on the rear by the deck. I am getting most of this stuff from a guy on my route. He is tearing down the old house and going to build a new one. So one mans junk is another mans work. Hopefully tomorrow while the wife is with her horses i can spend some time on a front axle housing.

So now a good question.

I am going spring over with about 1 inch lift springs in the front and a 1 inch body lift with nothing really for front fendes. Will 37's be too small ? Seeing as someone above brought up about 39's. Darn you.

When I first did the spring over on my rig, I did it with stock FJ40 springs and no body lift. It cleared 38.5" SXs with no problems. And I had the front fenders cut back to just the inners like you want to do. Then I went to 39.5" Iroks, and they cleared fine also (I removed the inner fenders though).

Why the 1" body lift?

The first pic is on the 38.5s, and the second is with 39.5s:

Thanks R.K.

Remember i am only going spring over in the front. I will have that Link in the rear.

So, it looks like i need to look into 38.5's now dang it. This thing is just getting bigger and bigger as it goes. Evolution it is called.

Not too sure about the body lift but just in case i have one from awhile back. Makes it easier to work on stuff along the frame really.

Just a quick note here.

Had to put this thing on the side burner for a bit. You all know about the Spring yard work outside to keep the better half happy. Esp seeing as she is allowing me to do this project. Got the tranny here, but it is still in the back of the 60 till i can get one of my neighbors to come help me get it out. It is in a nice heavy duty crate that the shipping company used a forklift to put in there with. Hopefully will be going to look at a house halfway between here and Charlotte.
