Not too much to report for today unless someone wants to see it now painted in self etching primer.

Starting to get a good idea today though what all needs to be cut out and replaced metal wise.

Also am going monday to pick up a centered rear axle. And look at a cruiser.

Got more stuff i am waiting on like the paint for the frame.

Probably spend tomorrow welding up un needed holes in the tub.

Had to have some Ribs. Need to grill some someday soon though.

Anyway onto what i did today. Got about a full days work in today. Good day to do work out there also.

As you can see here i got alot of holes welded up.

Also see where i cut out some metal to replace but am going to wait on my rust bullit to come in before i close it back up, as i am going to put some in there to stop any rust from going any farther than it has already gone. By no means at all will this thing have all of its rust taken out, but am not going to be riding around in a rust bucket either.

even more..

Here you can see where i cut the tool box out. Alot of rust between it and the tub. Did not need it anyway.

Also see where i cut out on top of the wheel wells where 2 pieces of metal were sandwitched for the seat mount. It was rotted out bad there also.

even more again..

Here you can see some rust that will have to be cut out later on the hood.

Also tell where it had flown up going down the road sometime in the past. Bondo was covering it pretty good.

Last for the evening..

First you can see where i welded up all of the holes and then ground them back down and sprayed some primer over them. You will be able to tell they were there, as i am not putting any bondo / body filler on this thing. Not too much reason as it will be out in the woods most of its life.

And the hood with some primer. Will work on it later on one evening.

Let me start out first by saying this. When you own a few different models of cruisers you collect some parts over the years. That being said. I had to spend most of sunday cleaning / straightening the garage. Made different shelves for specific vehicles now. And now a more space for more parts for this one.:D:D:D

So, No work on this on either Sunday or today. But i did go get my centered rear axle today from a great Cruiserhead. And ofcourse when you think you are just going to go get parts and come right home, it is not going to work out that way. 3 great hours later i was back in the truck for the 3 hour drive home. That was after driving the 3 hours there.

Time for an update with pics.

Got out the brushes as the weather around here has been really wet and painted the frame with some Rust bullet.

Will get some Black Bullet top coat on, on Tuesday.

As you can see i am not too worried about the front frame x member, reason being i am going to yank it out one day soon to put a different one up there.

What a morning already.

Got the frame outside ready to spray this R B Black top coat and that stuff is so thick it is not even going to think about coming out of the gun. So out with the paint brush and one half is done, but now have to wait for it to dry and then flip it upside down. Guess now is as good of time to get some grade 8 bolts to put the rear frame back together with.

Off to the store.

Nice progress!!

Did you use the cruiser solutions rear gussets or something else? I need to do the same thing soon for my 40 and wonder how the quality is...

If you are talking about the rear frame pieces , I got them from some company on ebay. If you want after I see the fit I will tell you who I got them from. They look good and the test fit was decent , but will let you know forsure in a couple days .
