I have a 1992 landcruiser which I barely purchased and noticed that it made a loud noise under the hood, opened up the hood and the noise was coming directly from the power sterring pump. then when I was driving it, I proceded to make a turn, and the noise would intensify. at this point i was sold that the bearings in the power sterring pump were worn out and the pump itself needed to be replaced(the power sterring pulley itself also would wobble just slightly too). so i bought the pump replaced it problem solved, or so I thought! I test drove it made a lot of turns no noises at all( even came to complete stop turn both diretions fully, and still no noises) problem solved. well, first time driving the truck in about a week and as soon as I started the cruiser up , damn- that pesky little whining noise was back- what is up with that! does anybody no why this would happen, also when i turn it makes that noise again . please any info/direction would help. thanks.

Does the belt need adjusting? What sort of noise is it?

My power steering belt used to make a hell of a noise, is it worn down past the top of the pully, it's best to change all the belts anyway, really easy job to do, mine is quiet as a mouse now.
