I`m currently in Bolivia, La Paz - and the damn cool tracks seems to fight a bit on my dampers gum (don't know the correct word in english). But i guess the Image shows the problem:

How many Kilometers are possible with that issue showed above (on bad tracks)?

Thanks for suggestions. And if someone has contacts in Peru for repairs - feel free to post them :)

Beautiful LC! I'm trying to interpret your question...Are we looking at a shock bushing on your driver's side that is disintegrating? What is the liquid/gel that we see in the photo?

Unfortunately I can't help with contacts.

Correct, just the rubber bushing on the shock absorbers i did mentioned. The liquid comes from the cv-sleeve what is already fixed.

Toyota in Lima have this rubber bushing, but toyota sold them just together with a complete damper. 500 bucks just for some rubber (the damper would not even fit on my european car (hydraulic suspension with AHC adjustable dampers and adjustable height) - sounds crazy.

But is a least an (expensive) option.

The bushing on the 100's series AHC front 'dampers' are available though (pictured). The outer diameter is approximately 4 cm (and 4cm across, 14mm bolt). Measure and compare to yours. Perhaps these can work for you.

Also, measure your 200 series rear lower damper bushings and see how they compare to the fronts. I'm guessing they are around 4.5 x 4.5 cm. Those are available from Toyota.

Good suggestions, but the 200 uses a 16mm bolt there. Factory 200 bushing OD is about 51 mm. Rear is 45 x 45, but the hole is 19mm, and there is no way it could carry the weight. What damper is that?

I believe those are the AHC dampers. What is the length of the bushing's inner sleeve?

These are 100 series rear upper control arms. Bushing O.D. 51mm, 16mm bolt, Inner sleeve measures 60mm in length (maybe too long?). Problem is, Toyota doesn't sell the bushing separately either for the 100. However, they do for the 80 series. Same bushing OD but different bolt size. I'm not sure what size it is. Slee sells aftermarket bushings with both sleeves for 80 & 100.

It is even more worse. The original AHC of the Land Cruiser 200 AHC is rated for 3.5tons.

I habe an upgraded Version of this suspension system, who is rated for 5.1 tons weight. This is an aftermarked and non-toyota upgrade. It is used too in the armored diplomatic version of the Land Cruiser 200 (with AHC).

Just the dampers are upgraded, and the rubber of the original AHC Dampers will not fit.

The exact values in mm are unknown to me....

Currently I found a mechanic who means he is able to find a (aftermarket) solution within of 2 Business days.

This rubber is on stock in germany, but the quickest shipment to bolivia will need 5 Business days. I love la Paz but after 2 Weeks I would like to restart my journey ;)

I hope it is fixed till soon!

I have dozens of stories from dozens of countries. And most are about some calamity or problem. Now you have a La Paz story. That is a good thing. A pretty evening on the beach is nice but a monsoon you remember. And we learn to laugh at them later.

Surfy, I have an unrelated question. I own an US spec 200 and want to build a sleeping platform like yours. My second row seats have airbags. How did you remove your second row seats and kept the airbag system intact? (Toggles?)
I realize you have bigger problems right now and wish you good luck
