Having an intermittent problem with vehicle starting up in the morning. Battery was replace with a Toyota TruStart in December. So far this only happens in the morning at first start-up. When pressing ignition button I hear vehicle make a groaning sound and then the dash flickers and clicks followed by dash lights coming on. If I hold ignition for about 10 seconds the vehicle slowly but surely fires up. After start-up I'm able to drive it all day without any issues until the following morning. Thinking it may be a starter issue as I would believe if an alternator it would crap out shortly after start up. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Alternator doesn't seem to make sense to me as if it was I would think the battery would die within minutes after starting up.
any other draw overnight?
Your symptom def points to starter. I was just asking when was alternator replaced last on the car

I'm not sure if there's another draw but I'm leaning that way. I've been thinking dashcam as its always on but is supposed to cut off if it senses battery getting too low. Last time this happened I put on a trickle charger and haven't had any issues for a few weeks until yesterday. I'm guessing that something is drawing it down and then there's not enough juice to engage starter at first press of ignition. Starter relay?
it really sounds like something is drawing on it.
i dont have any dash cams etc... i am too basic.. so can't help there...
but almost sounds like when my wife leaves a map light on..and car is slow to start.. of course if i tell her no amount of make up is going to fix the fact that the problem is the face.. but thats for another thread....
