Hello. To all owners of prisnu rack. How big the gap is bettween the roof and wind fairing? I just put the rack on the roof to try it and gap is big. With the spacer is even worse. I've checked pictures on the net and looks like the fairing almost touching the roof. Thanks

Here are the pictures

Mine has the rubber along the bottom of the fairing and sits on my roof. I have it on the lowest setting. Others on here have drilled another hole to get the fairing to sit even lower. Mine sat flush after install so no need to drill.

Did you cut the spacers? Could you take a picture of the mount? I would like to see how low it sits.

Mine has about a 3/16" gap without the rubber seal in the center of the fairing but I also have a pretty different setup. I have the full size non-cut fairing with the lightbar above it. Or to say it another way, my lightbar is centered on the front slat and the entire full size fairing sits below it. Assuming you've played with the different holes on the side rails to adjust the fairing support slat, here's a little trick: you can actually mount the fairing using only the top row of screws on the fairing and the bottom slot of the 80/20. That places the fairing 1" lower.

Pic of nuts holding bottom fairing screws from sunroof side. This makes it look like all fairing mounting screws are actually being used:

I didn’t cut anything. Everyone who I see having spacer issues seems to be assembling it on the ground first. I followed the Prinsu official 100 series installation video on YouTube exactly (except I used permatex) which has you do the side rails first then attaching the crossbars and finally the wind fairing. Figured I’d do it how they do it.

I installed the side pieces first, then added crossbars one at a time. I left the side pieces loose until all of the crossbars and fairing were installed. Then slowly alternated tightening all of the side piece feet until torque specification. I had a gap at the fairing before tightening, but the gap disappeared as the sides were tightened. The fit ended up perfect.

Exactly.

Once you see how thin the metal is it makes sense. The rails need to be anchored to the sides of the vehicle to literally bend the whole rack square when tightening crossbars. If it’s already all together, nothing will line up when you put it on the roof and you will end up loosening everything anyway.

Thanks everybody for the input. I've ended up with buying shorter spacers from ebay. Everything fits well now.
