Seems like a popular question, but unfortunately, I think its time for us to trade in the wife's land cruiser for a... minivan. yech.

2003 Land Cruiser
205k miles
timing belt / water pump done at 190k
new front brakes
old man emu shocks, rear springs, and HD tortion bars
New tires 10k miles ago.

Truck is in good shape with no rust, was born in Texas I think and has been in Idaho for the past eight years.

KB has at 9,710 in good condition for my zip code. What would you like to get?

I'd wholly ignore KBB. Banks, dealers, etc. don't go by it. Generally a bank will loan up to NADA Clean Retail (Some use another NADA book we don't have access to) regardless of whether the seller is private or a dealer. In my case, the loan value on the 03 I purchased a few weeks ago was $14975 but that was with 182k miles. I'd expect somewhere around $14000 if you're selling privately. Maybe the $9700 figure for trade purposes. All of that depends on area as stated above. Toyotas down here (Tacomas, 4Runners, LCs) hold their value extremely well. Ex. I previous had a 2014 Tacoma I bought for $30000 from a dealer and then sold back to another dealer a year and a half later for $27500. They priced it at near $35000 and sold it within a few days. YMMV as always.

I hope you can find a buyer at $14K you'd being doing well.

Sellers need to feel the waters, as op is doing. But then decided how long they're willing to wait. As a buyer I'm in no hurry, but once I decide to sell most anything, I hit the market fast. Time is on the side of the buyer.

NADA good $10,800 trade in. I just had a dealer offer me an 03 LX for $11,500, which carries a higher value than LC generally. I turned it down, it had a perfect maintenance record but the body and interior are rough. I also walked on and 05 for $14k same records and condition. Banks will vary depending on area, credit score and competiveness. There are high millage 05, 06 & 07's for ~$14 - $18K in the market now. I also see and 06 in perfect condition with 57K for ~$32. Even if it was a limited (only 400 built) I'd not pay that. Personally I have issue with to low of mileages as they get used generally for tons of short tips (under 5 miles), and carry a higher value.

Personally when I look for a vehicle, I like to see pure stock with no sign of modifications, off road or towing use. The exception would be one very off road build with premium components fresh out of the shop, top dollar. Or one that's been road hard that I'm buying for the parts, bottom dollar.

Down here the LX version is a lot cheaper than the LC (2-3k on average for similar age and mileage). Loan values don't vary by credit score but interest rates and length do. A bank will not loan more than the collateral is worth regardless of your credit.

Are you a broker, or just keep tabs on 100/470s? Are you in Denver?

3 years ago I paid $17k for my '03, well maintained, timing belt done, with a 1.5 OME lift, otherwise stock with 124k miles.
