Hello,

I have a 1986 Jeep Laredo with 4.2 L 258 ci straight six engine (the bigger in line 6 cylinder engine offered) with 104K miles. It has a 5 speed original Tranny (Borg-Warner T-5 trans). I was driving the Jeep several years ago and planned on fixing it up... it has been sitting since then. The frame is in great condition. The tub has rust. Not sure what axels it has... feel free to chime in. Trying to get an idea of selling price. I have the trim pieces for around the wheel wells in the vehicle as well as the steps to get in. Also has a soft doors in the back ... not sure of their condidion as I never had them on. All center caps for wheels are their. I know the previous owner put a new fuel tank and I had the breaks done when I was diving it.

Thanks!

I hope you found some answers by now, but i'll give my .02 cents anyway. Nice original Cj7. The axles are: Dana 44 Rear and Dana 30 Front, probably 3:56 gears. The rust on the body doesn't look too bad from the pics but will need to be addressed and likely the same on the floor pans too. If the Jeep runs and drives and there are no issues with the motor & trans, you probably should get $4-6K for it. Just my guess, you never know what someone is willing to pay for one. I have had a couple and currently have an 86 too. good luck if you still have it.

I would say, running and driving it would go in the $4K range due to the nice interior and complete nature.......cover up the rust with some new paint and I could see $6K easy. Good luck!!

You never know what someone is willing to pay. Remember it is an 86, which is the last year of the CJ. Again, they came stock with a dana 44 rear axle and rare that it has a T5 trans. I just sold my 86 that looked similar but with no rust and new paint. Drive train was all original and interior was in great shape, sold it for $11K

The dana 44 rear axle is a nice bonus. x2 on the 4k range -- maybe 3500-4000 -- there is probably MORE rust than you think, it looks like a lot of repairs were started on the metal, which IMHO ( as a dedicated jeep owner for many years ) makes the value plummet . If all runs well, shifts well etc. you'll get a buyer who will be eager to tackle the body work... GLWS
