So i daily drive my 40 and i am in the middle of repainting it and stripping the old paint. I have removed all the paint from my hood and she is bare metal showing...and btw the bare medal look is what my son wants. So my question is until i am done sanding down my whole truck what can i do to prevent rust from developing on the cruiser? I parked the 40 here at the office the other day and the sprinklers came on and the next day i little rust areas. Is there something i can spray on there to prevent that from happening?

If I read right you want bare metal showing so get the little rust off and spray some clear coat over it. Rattle can should work

if i spray a clear coat on it will i have to sand that down again before i prime and paint it in the near future?

yea same thing when you get metal in sheets from a supplier.. bare but coated in a something similar to motor oil.. keeps rust at bay

Not really sure what your plans are, but it the end it appears you plan on painting this rig, so I don't understand why you don't just shoot primer to protect the metal. But if you want the bare metal look for a while try this stuff and it appears you can shoot paint on it. I hope this answers your question. Its called Rust Control Clear.
