Reluctantly for sale is our 1997, 4x4, Limited, 3rd gen 4runner with 176,000 miles. This is a cherished vehicle that we have had intentions of keeping forever. Not only does it look great and receive many compliments, it has proven to be extremely capable and reliable. Consequently, it is the ultimate weekend warrior or even daily driver.

During my ownership I have kept meticulous care of it and have a journal with over a hundred entries of all that I have done and gas mileage logs.

Both CV axles

Front brake pads @ 175,650

Oil change @ 176,000

Tires rotated (5 tire rotation)

(5) Tires are a few years old and have under 10,000 miles.

Battery is 3 years old from Costco

Seats have been reupholstered and almost look OEM

Modifications/features:

(5) 315/70r17 BFG KO2 Load Range C

Diff drop

Toyota Tokico Rear Shocks

Smittybuilt Defender roof rack

Winch capable steel front bumper

Viper alarm with remote start

K&N lifetime air filter

Late model third gen 4runner headlights with LED bulbs

Uniden CB radio with Firestick antenna

Weather-Tech floor liners

OEM dealer option automatic dimming rearview mirror.

Shift on the fly, push button 4x4

There's easily $10k worth of upgrades done plus a few thousand in recent maintenance.

Wear:

There are a few door dings here and there. One significant one on rear hatch and one on roof.

There's a hole cut out of the radio bezel where a subwoofer controller was.

There's some evidence of rock rash underneath.

Plastic paneling in the trunk area has some scratches.

Things that could use to be done eventually:

Front bumper could use better mounts fabricated.

It could use an alignment and tire balance to be perfect.

Transmission mount could be replaced soon.

Needs rear wiper blade.

Bought new in El Paso, Texas and has been in the Southwest since, so no rust. The frame has been dealer undercoated in the main areas susceptible to rust, otherwise the frame and undercarriage is very clean and hasn't been painted over. All body panels are original and have the original paint. No accidents. Carfax reports 5 owners but I account for 3 of them (bought it, sold it for a short time, bought it back). Engine is quiet and peppy, transmission shifts are as smooth as can be. Doesn't burn oil. Gets 16 mpg combined if you drive conservatively. Everything works.

I will consider reasonable offers only.

Cash or cashier's check only.

What was your final sale price? I have a very similar rig I'm about to put up for sale/trade. thanks.
Sold for $15,000. Took about 2 weeks to sell but I was particular about the buyer and wanted it to stay local.
