I stumbled across these guys and it got me wondering if there are any prebuilt plates like this out there to make it easy to mount a Bluesea box under the hood?

They said the Tundra option is flat and ight be easily customizable. It's a great concept. Hoping somebody has done it for an 80.

Thanks! I hadn't seen this before!!

I've deleted my ABS pump and will be reusing the ABS ECU in the kickpanel for a aux fuse mounting location.
I just bought a 12 way fuse block similar to the Blue Sea with two independent sections for constant power and acc power.

Dang that’s a good idea. I may consider this, just don’t like the idea of that much power sitting inside the cab.

It's 12v of power, and you have it all over the cab already. It literally runs the entire vehicle electrical system.

Yes. Fused power through a controlled circuit built under ISO standards vs me just dumping a big hot wire through the firewall.
I generally keep things in the engine bay if there was ever an issue but I do like the ABS slot.

I worked with a local fab shop to design a tray to replace the ABS module I removed but never went forward with it.

You could mount it to the firewall.
The only downside I can see is you keep $140.

Fuse an appropriately sized feed at the battery, then your feed is protected and auxiliary fuse panel takes care of individual circuits.

True I can have 60 amps come in or 0, and mine is currently 0 with everything external.

So time will tell if I change it

S.E.M.S. MOUNT Strategic Electrical Mounting Solution

Looks, to me, as it's used as the battery clamp, or mounts to the battery clamp.
Considering my battery clamp is loose every time I check it, I'll pass on that idea.

After installing a dual battery, I went to a sheet metal shop and had them bend a piece of 1/8" aluminum to mount breakers and fuse block. They charged $30. I now need to now clean and figure out a better relay location...

I started my fuse box project today.

It fits perfectly however I'm not a fan of the fuse box. It was listed on Amazon as 1.65" tall. It's actually 2.25" tall and may be in the way. I ordered a Blue Sea fuse box with two separate circuits for constant and ACC power. It will be a better fit.

Yeah, I've toyed with just drilling into the firewall, it just always looked like the "top" leads might not clear the hood / maybe moisture getting in? Just too cramped overall. I agree $140 is a LOT. $75 ish would be a no brainer for me.

My rig is borderline show quality with how I've kept care of it for almost 20 years and has only played hard in the dunes. With the turbo setup and was thinking that a mounting plate would just make it look better / pop overall if I wanted to show off the engine bay.

What I have currently going on in there is kind of embarrassing lol....
