I wanted a short throw but couldn't eat the price.
built this from two shift towers.
2wd r150 and 4wd r150
cut the socket off the 2wd.
cut the boot catch off the 4wd
weld them (i paid a guy cuz i don't do aluminium)
added 1 3/8" to the stick.
i had to open up the lower hole a little bit.
gravy.

Nice job! 👍

I bought my Marlin short shifter kit 10 years ago. I just looked at their website to check it out now. Dang! I don't remember what I paid and I don't remember getting a shift lever like what they show now. I think I had to exchange mine maybe? But it wasn't a new one.

I had to cut and weld my shift lever with a dog leg in it to clear the dash after swapping in the 3.4 and R151F. I actually think it shifted better with the stock shifter. I bought the short throw because of the close clearance to my dash.

this made me think of your r151 issue.

That shifter mod looks like it would be really fun to drive with. It’s crazy how much the short throws are going for now a days.

@gnob, That picture was a reply to one of my posts on my swap thread on Yotatech. I think it was originally from a Pirate post. I would have copied that shifter if mine was THAT far under the dash.

No point my synchros are slower than a stock shifter :-)

Nice work!

LCE does sell much more affordable versions than the Marlin.
