Short Version: What other Toyota platforms share a P/S pump with the GX470?

I'm in UAE where Prado 120s are ubiquitous. P/S pump in my '07 GX470 is making a pretty good whine and steering was pretty hard when I receive the vehicle after shipping it over. (60 days transit). I had the local mechanic see about sourcing a new P/S pump and they are having a tough time.

Thanks

I'd suggest pulling the part number from a Toyota parts website and then putting cross-referencing it with the Prado 120 part number as well. Being that the GX and Prado 120 have different engines, I would not be surprised if the power steering pump is different since the accessory/belt layout is going to be different. It would seem more likely that the GX470 would share a pump with a 1st gen Tundra/Sequoia or a 100 Series LC/LX470, both of which share the same 2UZ engine and presumably some/most of the accessories.

Have you tried cleaning out the oil reservoir (especially the gunk in the screen) and replacing the fluid? A cleaned out system and Fresh M1 synthetic ATF will quiet down most pumps.
