Hi

I am based in Nepal. I have a 94-95 FZJ 80 land cruiser. it has the 4500 cc 6 cylinder inline, the engine is carbureted and not with fuel injection. It does not even have power steering. Driving without power steering is a tough job. I would like to know from this forum if it would be possible to fit a power steering kit in this vehicle and whether anybody has had experience of doint it.

Thanks in advance.

Ash.

First, Welcome to the forum. Mongolia a few weeks ago, now Nepal. We're getting more global by the day.

I can't speak for 93+ FZJ's but I don't things it's going to be that difficult.

However, do you have the availibility for a power steering unit in Nepal?

You could order from Specter Offroad if you get desperate. The pump mounts to the block and is driven by the crank. The reservoir is remote and mounts to the intake on the EFI version. There is a cooler also.

Don't forget the 2,400 dollar steering gear.

It's only $1k used from SOR ;).

Good lord. I can't imagine how hard it is to turn with the centre diff locked. I'd imagine much of your driving is on unpaved roads?

I thought I was slumming it without cruise control in the Australian 80.
