Looking for help diagnosing a leak coming from my power steering lines ( 97' FZJ80 ) I'm out of my element here so If I use the wrong name for something or wrong verbiage I'm sorry

It appears to be coming from 2 different hoses, both from the bottom of them where the clamp is.

#1 hose coming from the bottom of the reservoir connecting to the thin metal lines that run under the steering box alongside the engine into something
#2 hose leading to a metal line that goes into the steering box.

The " U " shaped hose that has one line going into the steering box and the other to the other part of the reservoir seems leak free. It's those other two hoses. I'm guessing one set is the return and the other set is the forward?

Again, sorry for botching any terminology and for the crappy pictures, any help is greatly appreciated

Wash that area off first including the front lower engine and front area of the upper oil pan (tip: do not spary high pressure water/detergent directly at the alternator or top of the engine/valve cover, and cover all dipsticks/ensure they're pushed in tight).

Then start the engine, turn the steering wheel, shut off engine, look closely for where the leak reappears.

You also appear to have an engine oil leak coming from the oil pump cover, hard to see, it's a small plate with seven Phillips (actually JIS) screws, located partly behind and to the vehicles left of the harmonic balancer/crank pulley. Are you sure your PS system is leaking (loss of fluid) or is that all engine oil??

Common power steering leak areas: where the high pressure hose attaches to the pump, where the hose that comes down from the reservoir attaches to a pipe on the side of the pump there is a small O-ring behind that pipe that will fail.

Your alternator belts also appear ready to fail, replace with the correct Gates or Toyota belts.

Try some searches (top right of page magnifying glass icon, choose This Forum) for: Power Steering Leak(s), and Oil Pump Cover Leak(s)

When we cant find a definite source for the leak, we usually replace the 3 soft lines because the get soft with age and start weeping at the hose barbs. Big hose from reservoir to pump, smaller hose from cooler back to reservoir, and small, low pressure line from steering box to cooler.

I ended up replacing both the low pressure lines, I did what @Kernal said and cleaned the area and checked for leaks with it running, sure enough it was those two hoses, when it came to removing them they were so dry and cracked you could have probably just snapped them off with a pair of vice grips. Finally leak free! Thanks guys
