Hi everybody, my fj60 has lost power steering well I have taken off the air filter assembly and the power steering reservoir and now I am on the actual psp. I got the two front bolts off but that one in the back is a pain. Who has gotten this off and how. I really don't want to remove the exhaust manifold that is blocking it or the bracket that is in the way of the smog pump. SO how do you cut that bolt once it is out as far as it can come? How do you pry the bracket? HOW DO YOU GET IT OUT!!!!!! Please Help!!:mad:

x2 on that advice:bounce::bounce2:

Welcome to MUD!

The rear bolt should be shorter than the front bolts you took out. You may have to pull the front of the bump towards the headlight washer reservoir and pry it out a bit. It is a tight fit but it can be done.

If someone used a long bolt in the rear and installed it with the exhaust manifold off you will have a really hard time getting it off unless you cut the bolt. If that is the case, as mentioned, just remove the bracket assembly.

x2 on the short bolt. Once the bolt is loosened all the way, pull it as far out as you can, then lift/rock the whole pump up out of the bracket. Watch that bolt though, once you yank that pump up and it clears the manifold it will want to jump out. Good luck.

i used a sawzall. mine wasn't even close to coming out all the way.
