Im going to add some power ports in the cargo area of my 80 series that has power with the ignition off for charging a fridge and whatever else I put back their when camping. Initially I was going to put a switch on the dash so I could switch the ports on and off. But then I thought, well whats the point of having them run through a switch? I can just unplug stuff instead. Is their any good reason to run a switch to the ports in your experiences?

I have a switch to power on the rear ports. I got the set up from ebay that came with a switch so I used it. Not sure if is necessary other than to power off the digital voltmeter that also came with the set up. It is nice to monitor volts back there though.

I have USB and 12v in the back too for years. Never missed having it switched, but I would like a volt meter. I would say skip the switch just to have one less thing to corrode, come loose, etc.

I have several power/USB ports front to rear and none are switched. I do fuse each individually so each works independent of each other.
Thanks for the replies and pics. Appreciate the feedback.
