I have a 1989 fj-62. The power lock lever has always been somewhat tempermental (have to hit it just right to have it engage/disegage door locks), but it will not work anymore. Please advise on how to troubleshoot. Also, if need be, how do you get the electric window/electric lock cover off to get to the switches. As always, thanks for the advice.

I had a similiar experience. Once I cleaned off the terminials they worked much better. Same was true for my power windows.
If I remember correctly the switch has tabs that have to be bent down from the inside of the door panel to remove them.
