powder coat an oilpan?

Hi there, I have an oil pan that I can get powder coated for free.
Is it a good idea to do inside and out? Is this a good idea for rust protection.

I strip new ones and do it.

I recently had my valve cover powder coated, came out great. While in the shop the paint guy showed me a motorcycle fender he had powder coated previously but was in an accident and got bent, the powder coat did not have a scratch on it.
