I was thinking about the @jmack Target Carrier, and the throttle pedal he was using.

My use of the FJ-62 throttle pedal definitely has room for improvement. I think it sits too high up?

I was thinking I could start by bending this pedal down, adding the bend below the pivot. I was also wondering about shortening the assembly.

What do you all think?

The distance from the pivot to the cable attachment point seems short, when you give it full throttle how much space do you have before the pedal touches the floor?

Do you mean can I hit WOT with that pedal? I have always wondered, I need a second set of feet, or eyes.
It is a 62 pedal, with 62 cable, so in theory it should.
But I see the point of your question, if I bend it down, how much throttle do I lose. So I may be better off shortening the pedal so my knee is not so bent. This would make the leverage on the cable greater though...

I went back and looked at you pictures, I see what you mean. We are clearly running our throttle cables in through 2 different holes. I thought we used the factory hole for throttle, but I have been wrong before. It looks like your pedal is much closer to the firewall than my current placement.

Pablo,

You’ll need to check your carburetor and measure how much movement you need from idle position to full throttle position in inches then see how many inches of peddle movement it takes for your peddle to pull that much cable. You should be able to do this without help and determine if your setup is capable of giving the amount of range needed.

The shorter the arm above the pivot the more peddle movement is needed to pull the same amount of cable with a longer arm above the pivot.

Hope this helps.

Lokar Lakester pivot is in about the center of the pedal so 1” of movement on the pedal equals about 1” of cable pull and looking at your photo you have about a 4:1 on your current setup so yes you could mount the lokar pedal closer to firewall or floor and still get full throttle movement.

Thanks man. Was that an existing hole you ran your throttle cable through?

No, I drilled that hole between two existing holes.

That makes sense. I am just screwy enough that I may try to mod the OEM pedal for better fit.
I'll be curious how comfortable your arrangement is when you get it up and running.

When I got this Pig, the front seat was pretty torn up. While we were swapping in the 3FE, I sent the seat out to an upholsterer near my buddy's shop. We found some cloth that looked similar to the vinyl and I like the upgrade.

One thing I have been wanting to take care of was the back seat. It had the original vinyl on it, and while it was not horrible, it would be nice to get it matching the front seat.

In the first pic you can see some of the front seat.

Pablo,

I'm not sure about that piece myself. Found it on the parts wagon, so I had it painted. Same for those little bakelite block pieces with the two flathead screws?

I sent Mike an email on price and possible measurement info. If I get anything, I'll start a thread to see if there is any interest. Thanks again.

I got a call from Mike saying that he has gotten emails about these bumpers and replied 3 times, but they must not be getting through... You may want to check your spam filter.

Do you think it could be some type of grab bar for the center seat passenger? They have handles in the headliner for the outer passengers...
