Anyone have any experience with this company? Welcome to Moriteq USA

Ran across their website while snooping over in MBZ land. Looks like they are a company based in Japan that can make just about any rubber/EPDM/silicone etc. part you want. They apparently employ a moldless system, so setup cost is minimized. Website says they will do very small quantities. Their USA office is in IL, so not sure if any of the manufacturing is done in the States or just in Japan.

Perhaps this sort of thing is already well known, and I am late to the game, but could be a great way to get smaller seals and gaskets produced.

Yeah, definitely not trying to cross-rough John and his rubber; he provides a great service!

Mostly I was thinking of all the little seals and grommets that are NLA and folks are SOL on (headlights, tail lights, tailgate parts etc).

Which fixed? Rear door?

I thought rear door fixed was available at SloCruisers.

The big piece of rubber I'd love to see is the tail light base gasket that goes against the body.

I really appreciate John's efforts. Mine did not fit all that well...

What about that little accordion boot on the firewall for our parking brake?

Exactly!! I don't know. Going to contact the company on Monday and see if I can get a sense of easy/difficult it would be to work with them, and what kind of design files or actual parts they would need. They say cost is reasonable, but we all know that is a very subjective term......

Slo-Cruiser told me a few months back that most of his rubber was backordered and he didn't know when he would get it, if ever.

What?!? Problems with manufacturer?
I'm not sure. It's been several months since he told me this, but he said he would contact me when he thought he would be getting more. I still haven't heard back.

I wanted the complete kit. I have managed to find an OEM 3 sided rear gate gasket though.

Some of the gaskets can't be made without a mold unfortunately... There are certain aspects(undercuts, etc) that can't be manufactured without a multiple piece mold... I think they are just using some machinable rubber blocks. Probably a reasonably firm durometer so machining is possible... But I could be way off base here.

Based on their website, available material and manufacturing processes shown, I think you're right. It'll be interesting to find out though. Thanks in advance @Ferntucky for sharing what you find out.

you mean using the machinable rubber blocks as the base material for the seals? I would think the lower durometer factor (required to make the rubber machinable) would play against any reasonable sealing action if this is the case...

Any reason the pig sty shouldn't collaborate with Slo Cruisers? Yes, we all have sticker shock when we look at the catalogue, but @PabloCruise had a long talk with John and it's seriously tough to get low quantities of these specialized parts manufactured. Maybe we can use his knowledge, do a group buy, let him make a few bucks for the effort and get some less expensive parts in his catalogue for all to purchase. His knowledge will be valuable to us all. Just a thought but @Ferntucky has the lead on this....

Whoa whoa whoa....... @xtremeVA, let's not get crazy with this "taking the lead" stuff!
I was looking into moritequsa for small parts that I did not think were being made. That said, if weatherstripping is actually not going to be manufactured, then yes, let's work with John and see what can be done! Just thinking that someone with a more established relationship with SloCruisers should be the POC however. That said, if no one else wants point, I can take it......

Perhaps the easiest way to get some things figured out is to ask @SLOCRUISER if theirs anything we can do to help?

Sorry to dig you into this, feel free to ignore my tag. lol

As much as I am years from painting but the fear of not being able to obtain the weather stripping. With that being said I can scratch together some coins for the stripping if we can get a group buy together. I am sure my wife want mind me dipping in to the house fund.:bounce2: Mmmmmm and we just found out we have our second child on the way. So budget is tight.....:)
