Labor day holiday camping - looking for ideas. Should we head north to Goose lake?

Where is Goose Lake?

Goose Lake is a place I've been wanting to get to. From what I hear the trail isn't too bad. I should be able to scrape my way up there I think.

Goose lake will have a high volume of traffic. I would stay at one of the forest campgrounds below Red River and make goose lake a day trip. There are some great trails in the area that will take you to the clouds.

Ok, thanks for the heads up.

This sounds like a great idea. :-) I've wanted to run 4th of July canyon too...

Mills Canyon camping last weekend - Done.

This is a neat part of NE New Mexico that's worth checking out. The Mills Canyon CG is right on the Canadian River so few folks from TX met us there.

More pics are here on Expo

I went to Mills Canyon many years ago with Nylia. I don't remember a campground. We just stayed in the canyon.
