Nope.

I also think 500,000 will be a very rare milestone to hit. A few might, most won't. Engines historically just don't last that long as a rule. As great as the Toyota engines are... Every time you start it up and drive it, it's wearing out.

Completely disagree. There was some who did a DCI on a 300k + 2UZ. There were still hone marks on the cylinder walls and crankshaft runout was within factory spec. Modern oil and a finely made machine can have last a long time.

I've got 101,xxx on the clock.
Driver's side exhaust manifold is cracked.
Transmission works like a champ - when I went to the stealership and I wanted to do a complete tranny flush, they told me NOT to do it. They said that since the truck had 100k on it and possibly the fluid has never been changed, they thought it would do more harm than good. Thoughts??
Replaced #7 ignition coil on Thursday.
Fxxxin Ignition coils dude. I changed mine about two months ago. Fxxxers are expensive. I am not sure what the dealership is telling you. It makes complete sense to change OLD oil to new more lubricating oil.

First off welcome to the site.

Secondly, I don't think toyota or lexus dealers recommend flushes. If they do, its prob with an aftermarket machine. We tend to frown upon flushes. Possibly has something to do with loosening deposits and causing more problems.

Personally I would just do a drain and fill. And another when at a different interval(maybe when you change your engine oil). Definitely stay away from flushes.

And at 90 bucks a pop, yea it sucks.

For all these 250K and above cruisers. Have any of you not service the transmission at all or done it for the first time at a very high mileage? I'm asking about WS transmissions only.
When I sold mine at 335k I had done zero work beyond normal maintenance on any part of the drivetrain. Just off the drive train I did have to replace 2 starters but that's it.

Getting there

I only made it to 278k miles on my 99 cruiser... ( I'm not complaining!). I got it new and maintain it meticulously.... Blown head gasket so I rebuilt the entire engine... Ready for another 100k+ and looking forward to it!

Anything you can add that may have contributed to blow head gasket?
What type of oil and coolant/water use and how often changed?
Any issues with coil, spark plugs, fuel injectors, T-body etc..?
How did internals of engine look heads, valves, pistons, cylinder walls, crank, bearings etc..?
Perhaps you could start a thread on history of this 100!

Not as high as some on here. Drives like it has half the miles on it. Still tight and smooth.

I had oil changes every 3k miles, timing belt/water pump every 100k. Throttle body cleaned every 15k. Chevron fuel injector cleaner every 15k miles. I'm still scratching my head as to why the blown head gasket, because it never overheated. Unfortunately my engine was sent to a rebuild shop at the same time I left on a trip for 2 weeks. When I gotbacknit was ready to go. I never got with the shop to ask the questions on the condition of the engine. In retrospect I wish I had. Maybe it's not too late and I can go back and ask...

How about your coolant flush procedure and fluid(s) list. Coolant is very often a contributor.

Advice, please!

Totaled my beloved 98 100 with 475,000 miles. I want another old Beast but I'm cheap. All other things considered equal and stock, which one:
2000 lx470, 113k miles
2002 100, 130k miles

Thanks, compadres

RIP Beast
@kitkraft - besides the non-OEM, twice-replaced starter and fan bracket you mention in the other thread, would love to here what else you replaced over the years, dealer or DIY service, mods, etc.

Sorry to hear about your Beast,
Dean

It's a very short list! Front diff twice but not trucks fault. I replaced front axles at NTB and they neglected to install new seal. Lube drained out on long trip and front diff blew up. Put in a used replacement which failed soon enough that it was replace free of charge. Replaced alternator, replaced driver sided window control. Timing belt and water pump 3 times. U joints replaced only once and that was last year. I consider everything but the diff to be maintenance for high mileage. Sunroof quit working but I did not feel like spending 2k to fix it. I did not baby this thing by any stretch of the imagination but I did use synthetic oil from day 1.
